Privacy Policy

Updated 10 October 2026

This policy describes information handled by Fitness Calculator at thefitnesscalculator.com. The site operator publishes under the name Rowan Hale. Contact the operator through the contact form for privacy questions or requests.

Calculator inputs

The calculator code processes height, weight, age and measurements on your device. It does not submit those inputs to our server or include them in analytics events. There are no user accounts or saved calculation histories. Copying a result places it on your device's clipboard at your request. Browser autofill or other device features may separately retain information under your own settings.

Hosting and technical information

Visiting the site sends requests to our hosting infrastructure. Technical records can include IP address, request time, requested page and browser information. Hosting, security and backup providers may process these records to operate and protect the site. Their server and backup records have separate retention settings. And rejecting analytics does not stop the technical processing needed to deliver a page.

Optional Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 only after you choose “Allow analytics.” Until then, the site does not load the Google Analytics tag. Rejection leaves the calculators and guides available. We use analytics to understand visits and page use.

After consent, Google can receive page-use information, browser and device details, online identifiers and technical connection information. Analytics can recognize repeat visits through identifiers; it should not be described as completely anonymous. Our page-view setup excludes URL query strings and calculator values and disables Google signals and ad-personalization signals.

Analytics can set cookies named _ga and beginning _ga_. Our tag requests a maximum cookie lifetime of 180 days without automatic renewal on each visit. Browser settings may shorten this. Cookie lifetime is separate from Google's retention of collected analytics data. See how Google uses information from partner sites and Google's Privacy Policy, including information on processing locations.

Your choice and withdrawal

We offer the same optional-analytics choice to all visitors. This device remembers your choice in local storage under tfc-consent for up to 180 days. This record stores your choice and its date. When that choice expires or the question changes, we ask again.

Choose “Reject optional” to stop future analytics on this device. If analytics was already running, the page reloads to stop the loaded tag and the site attempts to remove its first-party analytics cookies. Withdrawal does not automatically erase data already collected. You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser. If storage is unavailable, your choice may last only for the current page.

Advertising and third-party vendors

This site is enrolled with Google AdSense under publisher ID pub-4913446357304637. That ID is published at /ads.txt so an ad buyer can check who is authorized to sell space here. The AdSense code loads on the calculator pages and on the guides, and Google chooses where the ad units go on those pages. Policy pages such as this one carry the publisher ID in a meta tag and run no ad code.

Google and the third-party vendors acting as its partners select, serve and measure those ads. Those third parties read and set cookies and use web beacons, pixels, IP addresses, device and browser details and other online identifiers to choose an ad, limit how often the same ad appears, and count clicks. Google’s how Google uses information from sites that use its services page and its advertising technologies page set out that processing. Each vendor operates under its own privacy policy, which the operator of this site neither controls nor can read.

Several opt-out routes exist and each works on its own, independently of the cookie choice recorded here. Google My Ad Center and Google Ad Settings govern Google’s own personalization. The industry pages at optout.aboutads.info and the Network Advertising Initiative cover many vendors in one step. Opting out stops personalization and leaves you with non-personalized ads, chosen from the subject of the page and a coarse location instead of from a profile of you.

Calculator inputs stay in your browser and reach no ad vendor. Height, weight, age, body fat and tape measurements will never be used to build an advertising audience, because an audience assembled from those figures would amount to an inference about your health.

The cookie choice offered on this site covers optional analytics. It is not a Google-certified advertising consent platform, so a reader in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland is put into the denied state for advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalization before the page renders, and stays there whatever answer they give the banner. Ads shown in those regions are non-personalized as a result, which means they are chosen from the subject of the page and a coarse location. Readers elsewhere start in the granted state and can leave it through any of the opt-out routes above. Before a personalized ad is shown in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, the operator will add a Google-certified platform, describe it here and change the date at the top of this page.

Contact messages

Submitting the form sends the name, email, selected subject and message you enter, along with the referring page, to the site. Messages are stored in a private administrator inbox, and an email notification containing the message is sent to the operator's mailbox. Hosting, email and backup providers therefore may process this correspondence. We use it to handle requests and replies, not as an advertising list.

Please use fictional example measurements when reporting a calculator problem. Do not send medical records, passwords or other sensitive details. And the form is not a service for medical advice.

Messages remain in the inbox and any email or backup copies until removed under the operator's retention process. The site does not currently run an automatic twelve-month deletion process. You can request access, correction or deletion through the contact page; identity verification and applicable legal or operational requirements may affect how the request is handled.

To limit repeated submissions, the form keeps an hourly counter keyed by a hash derived from the connection's IP address. This counter expires after one hour. That does not set the retention period for hosting logs or the message itself.

Audience and privacy requests

The tools and guides are intended for adults. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. If you believe a child submitted information, please contact us so the operator can review and remove it as appropriate.

Privacy rights depend on where you live and the processing involved. You may ask about access, correction, deletion or other applicable rights through the contact page. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. When this policy changes, we update the date at the top. That is the record of when it last moved.
